Family Nursing & Home Care (FNHC) provides an independent Home Care service which has been operating in Jersey over 50 years. We support Islanders over the age of 18 to maintain their health, wellbeing and independence and remain in their homes for as long as possible.

Our friendly close-knit experienced carers deliver safe, high quality care tailored to each of our clients. We want our clients to lead fulfilling lives and every team member shares our values. Our desire to help others and be kind alongside our willingness to go the extra mile is what gives us the reputation we have.

We work with some complex needs including people approaching the end of their life, PEG management and delegated tasks including insulin administration and blood glucose monitoring.

Everyone pulls together to get things done to make sure the Client’s needs always come first.

We have access to and support from Specialist of Nurses in FNHC. We are rightly proud of the governance and support we have access to working with a well-established nursing and homecare charity. ‘If we don’t know, we know someone who does’, helping our team member’s progress in their careers is really important to us. We believe when people are fulfilled in their roles they do a much better job. That’s why we give all our carers support to gain qualifications and develop the right skills they need to help build a fulfilling career.

FNHC offers support to our excellent care team with their ambitions to develop in care, management or nursing roles. Many of our carers have gone on to work with the District nursing team and to undertake nurse training.

Kindness is at the heart of who we are both to each other, our clients and patients.

Accessing the Home Care service

FNHC can provide personal centred Home Care for clients who wish to contact us independently.

This can be arranged by the client by contacting us via email at [email protected].

The Home Care service operates between 07:00 – 23:00, 7 days a week.

FNHC encourages all clients to self-refer to the SPOR (the Single Point of Referral run by Community Service for the States of Jersey). This is to ensure that all clients have access to an assessment of care needs under the Long Term Care Scheme.

The SPOR (Single Point of Referral) run by community service (Which is not part of Family Nursing & Home Care) can be contacted on (01534) 444440.

Charges for the Home Care service

There is a charge to clients who receive Home Care services from FNHC. Clients may be eligible for support and can directly enquire through the Long Term Care Scheme.

Each application is individually assessed and dependent on personal circumstances. The assessment process is not undertaken by FNHC.
