Family Nursing & Home Care (FNHC) is hosting Jersey’s first ever colour run.
The FNHC Colour Fun Run will take place on Sunday 5th June 2016 and local businesses are being invited to contact the Charity to help sponsor the event.
Colour runs have become one of the most popular mass participant events around the world, with over 300 events held in 50 countries each year. The untimed event has no winners or prizes. Instead runners are showered with coloured paint, made of food-grade corn starch, at designated stations along the run.
The five-kilometre FNHC Colour Fun Run will take place along St Aubin’s Bay. Over 1,400 people registered an interest in taking part in just 24 hours when FNHC first suggested the idea on its Facebook page.
Ivo Le Maistre Smith, Fundraising Manager at FNHC, commented: ‘I am delighted to announce that FNHC will be hosting Jersey’s first ever colour run. It’s a fantastic addition to our fundraising calendar and will offer people the chance to get involved in a new and exciting event in the Island. The run is untimed so the focus is entirely on getting covered in colour and having fun along the route with your friends, family and colleagues.’
Local businesses are being invited to sponsor a colour station. Companies can choose a colour associated with their brand and are being asked to provide at least five volunteers on the day to plaster runners as they pass by.
‘Each colour will have a designated colour station along the route, and we are inviting local businesses with an affinity to a particular colour to come forward and sponsor a station. If you are interested in becoming one of the official colour sponsors then please get in touch with us to find out more,’ added Mr Le Maistre Smith.
Registrations for the run will be open in the New Year once all colour sponsors are in place. To find out more about sponsorship opportunities for businesses, contact Ivo Le Maistre Smith on 01534 443664 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
