The Colour Run is such an important event for Family Nursing & Home Care. Funds from previous events have enabled us to recruit a Paediatric Palliative Care Worker. This provides care for children and their families where there is a diagnosis or recognition of a life limiting or life shortening condition. Nicola Waggott is currently in post and we are delighted that she will be attending and participating in the event.
Jersey has an increasing number of children suffering from chronic and acute conditions, requiring long term or intensive care. By extending the Community Paediatric Service in this way we have be able to reduce the stresses imposed on families caring for a child, therefore families can maintain an independence lifestyle for as long as possible.
Funds raised through this year’s event will be used to maintain and develop the Paediatric Palliative Care Worker role. We ask for your help to achieve this goal by spreading the word and encouraging your friends, family and colleagues to register and run alongside you, or to sponsor you while watching from the side lines.
This year offers more paint and a brand new competition – The Runner who raises the most sponsorship will win the opportunity to let off a fire hydrant full of powdered paint. The winner will be invited onto the stage at the end of the run and will cover the crowd with a blast of colour.
Please don't be put off by the word "run" as walkers and families are more than welcome to join in the fun!

Q - Will there be paint?
A - Yes, lots of it!
Q - When is it exactly?
A - The exact times of the event are stated above. We will keep in touch with you about important details like this so watch out for our emails and keep an eye on our Facebook Page.
Q - What is the paint?
The paint is made of biodegradable corn starch and is non-toxic and environmentally friendly. It comes in five colours, and is thrown from colour stations along the route. Each colour is sponsored by a local organisation; the headline sponsor Dandara is blue, UBS is red, The Enhance Group is pink, BNP Paribas are yellow and Jersey Electricity are green.
Q - What's it all for?
You'll be raising money to help local charity Family Nursing & Home Care provide a Paediatric Palliative Care Worker to help support Jersey families with children with short lives in Jersey.
