Senior Health Care Assistant – Home Care

As a Senior Care Assistant you will assess, plan and review the care that our clients receive. Flexibility is a must as our service delivery is between the hours of 7am – 11pm. Senior Care Assistants supervise the Community Care Assistants to provide care and support for clients with all aspects of their day-to-day living, so that they can enjoy the best possible quality of life.

hours: 37 hours

salary: Grade 2 - SCHA Nursing Grade - £32,981.39 to £34,725.67

criteria: You will be an experienced Health Care professional with QCF Level 3 or equivalent. A minimum of three years experience in a social or health care environment is essential. Own transport is a must.

Role details

This is an exciting opportunity to join our professional and friendly Home Care Team as a Senior Care Assistant.

Senior Care Assistants are supervised and managed by the Home Care Manager. You will assess, plan and review the care for our clients on an individual basis -one size does not fit all.

You need to be flexible in order to support 7am – 11pm service delivery and you will supervise and oversee the personal and professional development of our Care Assistants. Part of the role will be contributing to planning rotas and making changes  for cover if required. Senior Care Assistants will help to provide care and support for clients with all aspects of their day-to-day living, so that they can enjoy the best possible quality of life. This may be the delivery of personal care, home help and companion activities in the home.

Key responsibilities are to safely plan and provide compassionate care that is centred on the individual needs and wishes of each client. We respect client’s choices and promote their dignity at all times.   You may be the only person the clients sees over a period of time, therefore it is essential to be aware of any changes or causes for concern.

You will work in accordance with FNHC’s standards to consistently demonstrate the behaviours and values required to fulfil the promises we have made to the people of Jersey.

·         Able to work across organisational boundaries

·         Excellent oral and written communication skills

·         Basic numeric skills

·         Good interpersonal skills

·         Ability to organise own time and to work on own initiative

·         Basic IT skills

·         Possess a full driving licence and must have car available for work.

·         Complete all mandatory training
