Grace Jardine, a pupil in Year three at St John’s Primary School, has designed a card to spread Christmas cheer in aid Family Nursing & Home Care (FNHC).
The Charity has printed 200 A4 copies of Grace’s ‘Three Snowmen’ card and is inviting local businesses and schools to register for the alternative card and display it in their offices, with the intention of raising money for FNHC.
‘The idea is for Grace’s excellent card to be displayed in communal areas so colleagues and pupils can all write a festive message in the one card to share with everyone, in exchange for a donation to FNHC. We have 200 cards and will be issuing them on a first-come-first-served basis,’ explained Ivo Le Maistre-Smith, fundraising manager at FHNC.
‘We hope to raise £5,000 from this initiative, and it’s an ideal way for the island’s corporate businesses and schools to help to raise vital funds for FNHC, whilst extending some Christmas cheer to their colleagues, and without the need for everyone to send individual cards.’
To register for a card please contact Louise Ferns at FNHC on firstname.lastname@example.org or 444480. The card will be posted free of charge, alongside a collection box, to participating companies.
It costs £24,000 per day to run FNHC, of which the Charity has to raise £4,600 in voluntary donations.
