FNHC were delighted to welcome our Patron Lady Kyd to this year’s annual Child Accident Prevention Jersey (CAPJ) ‘Safety In Action’ event at Highlands College.
Accompanied by CAPJ Co-ordinator Mandy Le Tensorer and Michelle Reddington, Operational Lead for Child and Family Services at FNHC, Lady Kyd visited all six interactive workshops and met some of the partners and volunteers who help make the event such a success.
Run over eight days in early July, CAPJ welcomes more than 1,000 Year 5 students to Safety In Action. Delivered in partnership with local organisations, the event features six engaging workshops covering Fire Safety, Kitchen Safety, First Aid, Water Safety, Road Safety and Outdoor Safety.
Designed to be fun, practical and interactive, each workshop equips children with valuable safety knowledge and life skills to help keep themselves, their families and their friends safe. Each child receives a ‘goody bag’ containing safety information, pens and pencils and other items provided by the partner organisations involved in the event.
Established in 1996, Child Accident Prevention Jersey is part of Family Nursing & Home Care and is funded through charitable donations.
