Family Nursing & Home Care (FNHC) are delighted to announce that a further three staff have recently been awarded the title of Queen’s Nurse, meaning that the charity now has a total of eight nurses with this accolade.
The title of Queen’s Nurse (QN) is awarded by the Queen’s Institute of Community Nursing (QICN) and is available to registered nurses with at least five years’ experience working in a community, primary care or social care setting. It is a formal recognition that title holders are part of a professional network of nurses committed to delivering and leading outstanding care in the community.
To gain the award, Operational Lead for Adult Services Tia Hall, Health Visitor Claire Harvey and Stephanie Hall, Tissue Viability Clinical Nurse Specialist were required to provide evidence of their experience and skills, supported by patient and colleague references.
All three are delighted and proud to have been successful in their applications and explained what having this title means to them. Stephanie said, “Being awarded the title of Queen’s Nurse is a huge honour – it reflects my commitment to delivering the very best care within the community and inspires me to continue learning, leading and making a difference for patients and families every day”.
Claire added, “I am honoured and delighted to have been successful in achieving the title of Queens Nurse. It demonstrates my commitment to ongoing high standards of evidenced based, person-centred, inclusive care and offers opportunities to support future learning, leadership and improvements in nursing care and services in our communities”.
Tia also expressed her delight at receiving this recognition, saying, “The QICN is an organisation that promotes excellence in community nursing and reflects the values of FNHC. The award recognises the essential role that community nurses play in delivering safe, high-quality care outside of hospital. I am proud to lead the adult community nursing services for FNHC and play my part in making a difference to the people of Jersey who receive care and support from us”.
Tia, Claire and Stephanie will have the opportunity to attend the Queen’s Nursing Institute Annual Awards Ceremony in London later this year, to be presented with their Queen’s Nurse badge and certificate.
