Key Accountabilities:
You will demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the guidelines of the HCA/Support Worker Code (2015) and apply these to maintain trust and credibility with patients, carers and colleagues.
The post holder will participate in co-ordinating care for specified individual patients/clients or patient/client groups by consistent contribution to care planning which meet identified treatment goals resulting in the delivery of high-quality patient/client care. You will undertake venepuncture, cannulation, chest auscultation and clinical assessments following a competency sign off .
The successful candidate will be able to contribute to setting standards and will maintain standards within clinical area while demonstrating proficiency in performing investigations and treatments in accordance with defined standards and within own sphere of competence.
You will demonstrate effective infection prevention and challenge poor practice and maintain accurate patient/client documentation and consistently give appropriate advice to patients/client; carers, colleagues, acting as health promoter by incorporating health promotion themes into own practice. You will keep up to date with developments within own discipline and maintain an adequate awareness of developments in Assistant/Associate Practitioner practice and will share knowledge and experience.
The post holder will contribute to the development of a philosophy of care which encourages the creation of a therapeutic environment for patients/clients and take responsibility for the safeguarding and welfare of all children, adults and/or families within your care and contact. You will be aware of and comply with all safeguarding policies and procedures
