Internal Awards and Recognition

FNHC recognises and rewards its employees who have made substantial contributions to the quality of care provided to clients or have delivered exceptional levels of work performance towards meeting the Association’s objectives and vision.  An individual from each identified area: Child & Family, District Nursing, Home Care Support and Corporate Services/Governance & Performance, is chosen to receive an award each quarter. 

William Glasson Award

This award was set up in memory of William Glasson, a young man who kindly assisted Family Nursing & Home Care in the administration area.  His parents offer an annual prize, which is awarded to any member of FNHC staff who is recognised by their fellow workers for having shown one of the following:

Outstanding acievement; Exceptional progress in Education & Development; Improved performance in their area of work; Made a valuable contribution to the Association

Each year, staff are asked to nominate anyone they feel deserves recognition.  A panel comprising of the CEO, a Committee Member, an Education Development Officer and the previous year’s winner judges the nominations.

Winner for 2016 – Jenny Querns

Jenny received several nominations all citing how well she has met the challenges of her role as Team Leader for St Helier South Health Visitors.  Comments included "Jenny has constantly supported us to be organised and keep our morale high" and "At Stressful times she also maintains a sense of humour".  Jenny, as well as being consistent and supportive, works very much in partnership with her team.  She is an asset and ambassador for the Association.

Runner up for 2016 – Jessica Clark

Jessica received nominations for her exceptional contribution to the District Nursing Team and to the Organisation.  Comments included "Jessica has shared her extensive knowledge with us and supported our development skills" and "She is a happy and warm person which is reflected in the closeness and support each team member has for each other" she offers many clients a service that Family Nursing & Home Care can be proud.

Team of the Year Winner 2016 – District Nursing Service

This team received nominations for their exceptional contribution to District Nursing.  The team have demonstrated on a daily basis that they go the "extra mile" especially to support patients and their families when they are nearing the end of their life.  They have met with a great deal of fortitude, tenacity, resilience and meet all the challenges as they have arisen and plough forward to achieve the outcomes asked of them.  At no time have they allowed the challenges to compromise the standard of service delivery and the clients they care for have remained the absolute focus of their working day.

2016 Support Staff Winner – Sharon Beckford

Sharon received nominations for her exceptional contribution to the Corporate Team.  Comments included "Always willing to go the extra mile" and "is calm under pressure and responds appropriately to the unexpected" you regularly go above and beyond to meet the needs of clients, working well with colleagues, both internal and external to the Organisation; and she offers many clients a service that Family Nursing & Home Care can be proud of.

Excellence in Customer Care - Joint Winners for 2016 - Abi Cooper and Carla Agrela

Both Abi and Carla have always liaised and communicated well with other members of their teams. Nominations were received citing how well they had met the challenges of their roles and both offer a service that Family Nursing & Home Care can be proud of.
