Family Nursing & Home Care celebrate their dedicated staff at their annual Staff Awards

Family Nursing & Home Care (FNHC) recently celebrated their nurses, healthcare professionals and colleagues at their annual Staff Awards. During the evening staff from across the organisation gathered to celebrate their incredible contributions to the charity and island community.

FNHC were delighted to welcome their Patron Sir Timothy Le Coq, Chief Minister, Kristina Moore, Health and Social Care Minister Karen Wilson, Deputy Philip Ozouf, Deputy Malcolm Ferey and Jon Wilks CEO of the Institute of Health and Social Care Management as guests to their event.

Presenting the awards alongside their guests was FNHC Chairman Phil Romeril with CEO Rosemarie Finley. Sir Tim Le Coq presented the award for Excellence in Care and Quality and Deputy Karen Wilson, Health Minister presented the William Glasson Award to FNHC’s Baby Friendly Facilitator – Breastfeeding Lead, Debra Hennessy, for her outstanding work in encouraging and supporting breastfeeding mothers in Jersey.

Throughout the evening the short-listed candidates and winners of various awards were announced. The winners were:

  • Team of the Year – School Nursing Team
  • Suzanne Middleton Memorial Award – Suzanne Middleton
  • Exceptional Service Award – Angela Stewart and the District Nursing Teams
  • Excellence in Care & Quality Improvement – Linzi Maddox
  • Small Change, Big Difference Award – Carol Cairns
  • Fundraiser of the Year – Georgina McDonald
  • Support Staff of the Year – Alan Keen
  • Outstanding Contribution to Community Healthcare – Louise Hamilton
  • William Glasson Award – Debra Hennessy

The William Glasson Award was set up in memory of William Glasson who was previously a member of staff at FNHC. The award was sponsored by his family in recognition of his happy days working for the charity and to commemorate FNHC’s values which William embodied.
