Clare trained as a Registered Nurse in Liverpool’s Fazakerley Hospital, qualifying in 1997. Her career started in acute respiratory medicine leading to senior clinical and leadership roles within medicine.

After a short period in nursing research Clare moved into acute community nursing with a particular interest in admission prevention and advanced nursing practice. Clare qualified as an advanced nurse practitioner in 2007 and went on to lead and develop acute community services including the community matron role, minor injury and illness clinics and hospital at home services with a keen interest in developing advanced practitioners within the community and primary care.

Clare moved to Jersey and joined FNHC in 2013. She is committed to developing advanced nursing practice across the island and bringing care closer to home in a safe and robust clinical governance framework. Clare represents Jersey in various forums that support evidence based practice and innovation.

Clare leads the participation in an annual national audit for intermediate care which benchmarks the service against similar UK models care to ensure the service is efficient, patient focussed and improves patient outcomes.
